Russia To Urge Syria To Place Chemical Stockpile Under International Control
In an interesting development, Russia’s Foreign Minister has stated Russia will urge Syria to relinquish control of their chemical weapons stockpile. This stockpile would be placed under international control, for dismantling.
Such an agreement would silence those calling for a US strike. I would much rather see this path taken, as opposed to the military option. Lets just hope all sides can take the smart path.

Syria is onboard. While I can’t find anything to post, it seems the United Nations is supportive as well.

This is the best news in this mess yet. I just hope Assad has the good sense to give up his chemical weapons to the Russians.
I’m inclined to believe that he will. Chances are, Russia leaned heavily on Assad before publicly floating this idea. They wouldn’t be giving control to the Russians, but to the international community, meaning the United Nations.
